National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST, FIRST TECH) has won recognition once again for gaining subsidization of Teaching Excellence Program for nine consecutive years and has become a Technological University Paradigm

The outcome of the Developing Technological University Paradigm Program of the Ministry of Education from 2013 through 2016 has come out. National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST, FIRST TECH) has transformed itself into a university of starting a business since 2010 with characteristics such as precaution against industrial disasters, development of mold industrial techniques, and training of circulating industrial specialists in the program. This move has won recognition from the Ministry of Education once again and obtained a four-year grant for a Technological University Paradigm Program. In 2013, the grant in the first year is 60 million NT dollars.

By judging the variation of industrial demand and education environment in Taiwan in recent years, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST, FIRST TECH) announced that it is a university for starting a business and its orientation and goal in 2010 and continued advancing education of innovation and starting a business.

At the same time, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST, FIRST TECH) has encouraged faculty members and students to put their creativity into industrialization and to commercialize their technology. In order to integrate regional industrial / academic characteristics and capacities of research and development, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology has focused on three professional technical fields—precaution and control of industrial disasters, industrial technique of multi-functional mold, and circulating industrialization and creating service value—in the Program of Developing Technological University Paradigm.
